So I've a medical thing that I need to buy once a month on Amazon and they cancelled my subscription delivery for it last time (but not the subscription itself), without telling me.
I tried to just order it for one time delivery, but the delivery date was a month out and they immediately cancelled my order.
My wife told me to use my developer brain—and yes, imagining a bug with some row in a database being in a fugue state, the exactly a month out delivery date being the biggest hint to something going into a default state when a calculation fails.
So I removed the subscription to the item (they make it hard to find where to do this).
Bingo: I can now order immediately for delivery in two days and for working subscrpition delivery.

Gah, trying to just get a delivery date so I could order something timed to arrive next week and pressed the wrong button so accidentally ordered the thing and also Prime membership.
Fuckers tricked me into Prime for a month with their dark pattern constant asking and refusal to take no for an answer.
Bastards.

Sending women who get abortions to prison for decades.
Outlawing IUDs.
Sharply restricting in-vitro fertilization.
These are the strictest abortion prohibitions and punishments in the nation being considered by South Carolina lawmakers,
even as opponents of the procedure are divided over how far to go.
The bill faces a long legislative path and uncertain prospects, even if it clears the state Senate subcommittee that’s reviewing it.
But the measure up for a …

To state the obvious: this is bland stuff, clearly protected by the 1A and so very far within the bounds of what a non-authoritarian FCC would allow that it’s just comical. Kimmel is about as controversial as a goldfish here. They aren’t serious about it being a problem; the whole •point• is that it’s obviously •not• a problem.
They are using something extremely benign to test the waters of government repression of speech, to see just how much they can get away with — and ABC caved like 3rd-grade toothpick bridge.

MIPI C-PHY is what you get if you take the engineering talent who could have designed something conventionally cursed like, say, 40GbaseT...
...And give them a bunch of LSD instead of a copy of 802.3 as their starting point.

Wrt to a certain article going around today:
I think if your parents are abusive and/or say or do certain abominable things and you don’t cut them off, there’s something wrong with you.
Which would make perfect sense being raised by people that were abusive to you.
Gotta break the cycle. If you don’t do it for yourself, think about how it affects people you love like your partner or children.

Matsuo Basho (1644–1694) lived his peculiar life on the conviction that
art could create an awareness that allowed one to see into and communicate the essence of experience.
Throughout his life he searched for the state of being one with the object of his poems,
something he believed a poet needed to reach in order to write truthfully.
This life-long search brought Basho to wandering.
He thought that travelling would lead to a state of karumi (lightness), ess…
