The two Dutch gas storages of NAM, operated by Gasterra (Shell/Exxon/Dutch government) are now completely empty: filling level 0.00%. The reason given is the winding down of Gasterra, which used to sell the Groningen gas. But one would say that a new operator could have bought the remaining gas.

Three lines from agsi.gie.eu data: NAM 0.00%, both in Grijpskerk and in Norg.

Oh, so all of these MAGA shops that made 86 46 shirts, hats, stickers, etc. wanted to kill Joe Biden?

Calibrations for the Sasaki volume on odd spheres and the no-gap problem
Jonas Matuzas
arxiv.org/abs/2602.22961 arxiv.org/pdf/2602.22961 arxiv.org/html/2602.22961
arXiv:2602.22961v1 Announce Type: new
Abstract: For each odd sphere $S^{n}$ with $n=2m 1\ge 5$, we consider the Sasaki volume functional $\mathrm{Vol}^S(V)=\int_{S^{n}}\sqrt{\det(I (\nabla V)^{\top}(\nabla V))}\,d\mathrm{vol}$ on smooth unit tangent vector fields $V$. Using the Brito--Chacon--Naveira calibration $\omega=a\wedge\Theta$ on the unit tangent bundle $E=UTS^{n}$, we establish the universal calibrated lower bound $\mathrm{Vol}^S(V)\ge c(m;1)\,\mathrm{vol}(S^{n})$, where $c(m;1)=4^{m}/\binom{2m}{m}$. In the relaxed (integral-current) setting, we show that the section-constrained stable mass in $E$ equals the calibration value and is attained by an $\omega$-calibrated mass-minimizing integral $n$-cycle in the section class.
We also analyze the equality case on smooth graphs. If a smooth graph is $\omega$-calibrated on an open set, then it satisfies the rigidity system $\nabla_V V=0$ and $\nabla_X V=\lambda X$ for all $X\perp V$, hence is locally a radial distance-gradient field. In particular, for $m\ge 2$ there is no smooth unit field on $S^n$ whose graph is $\omega$-calibrated everywhere.
Finally, we construct an explicit smooth recovery sequence (presented in detail for $S^5$ and then extended to all odd dimensions) and prove a uniform nonvanishing estimate for the polar-shell normalization in the patching construction. As a consequence, $\inf_{V}\,\mathrm{Vol}^S(V)=c(m;1)\,\mathrm{vol}(S^{n})$, so there is no Lavrentiev gap.

I guess this is an immutable distro and they don't want users installing random packages on the system. So instead it's homebrew (just for the user) or distrobox (a virtual environment?).
Homebrew is terrible, the #1 reason I stopped using MacOS. Debian works fine for me and my single user Linux boxes, but I can see why the atomic distro approach has its advantages.

I work on documenting #Jinja syntax used in #CondaForge recipes.
#Prism doesn't have one. But Internets suggest Twig would work instead.
#Docusaurus. But there's a workaround.
github.com/facebook/docusaurus
So I copy the code over to the project, fix it and while at it, rename it to "jinja" and adjust a bit.
But then, highlighting Jinja expressions alone looks pretty bleak, so let's combine it with YAML… Hmm, that actually doesn't work that well, needs some more adjustments. And before you know it, I have a pretty new Jinja highlighter, and a recipe highlighter that combines Jinja expressions, YAML, v0 recipe selectors, v1 if:/skip: conditions, and also highlighting shell / cmd variables for a good measure.

this is exceedingly strange and the only obvious symptom is gtk-keystores failing to open, and a search on those can only suggest creating fresh accounts and copying over from all previous, which is far more work than blowing away #Ubuntu and starting over with #Debian13, but this SHOULDN"T be so mysterious and require such drastic measures! All that happened was perhaps an auto-update, but gdm3 rejects the first login then accepts none further, and gnome-shell --wayland will run, but highly crippled, hotkeys disabled, and many programs will not run.
Today's tech puzzle I did not ask for 😞

Why this is all relevant to the OP is that there is actually nothing preventing us from exploiting these same vulnerabilities (and doing so far more effectively). The (illusion of The) Satanic Temple has already given us some vision of what that could look like. We can imagine a religious institution that actually challenges power in the way TST claims to do. We could imagine an institution that is more radical. We could imagine an institution so dangerous it actually forces the state to choose between it's own survival and alienating liberals by (more) visibly clamping down on freedom of religion.
One could imagine an anarchist or solar punk religion that intentionally builds an alternative society within the shell of the old, one that recognizes the validity of other religious sects (like, for example, Quakers) who are doing similar things.
While there is a very interesting spiritual element to #CultPunk. I think there's also a very interesting set of radical opportunities that we have long since ignored....

Abstract: We introduce a GPU-accelerated multigrid Gaussian-Plane-Wave density fitting (FFTDF) approach for efficient Fock builds and nuclear gradient evaluations within Kohn-Sham density functional theory, as implemented in the GPU4PySCF module of PySCF. Our CUDA kernels employ a grid-based parallelization strategy for contracting Gaussian basis function pairs and achieve up to 80% of the FP64 peak performance on NVIDIA GPUs, with no loss of efficiency for high angular momentum (up to f-shell) functions. Benchmark calculations on molecules and solids with up to 1536 atoms and 20480 basis functions show up to 25x speedup on an H100 GPU relative to the CPU implementation on a 28-core shared memory node. For a 256-water cluster, the ground-state energy and nuclear gradients can be computed in ~30 seconds on a single H100 GPU. This implementation serves as an open-source foundation for many applications, such as ab initio molecular dynamics and high-throughput calculations.

I've got a toy project listening on :23 (Telnet) and :22 (SSH), on a public IP. I've only shared this information with a few friends. Scanners are finding it.
I had to put a “enter nnnn at the prompt" on the Telnet port.
Tonight's new abuse: one SSH connection but MANY session channels within that connection, probing for accounts (on a system that is not serving login/shell on this ssh port)…

3. `ln -s /var/mail/USERNAME "/home/USERNAME/.var/app/org.mozilla.Thunderbird/.thunderbird/CHECKMICH.default-release/Mail/Local Folders/System-Mail"

We are happy to announce the release of MISP v2.5.36, which includes new geolocation and map visualisation capabilities, the continued development of the Overmind UI, a new interactive CLI shell UI, important security fixes, and installer improvements.
#misp #cti

MISP now supports rich geolocation visualisation for objects containing geographic data. When enabled, geolocation objects display an interactive map icon that renders coordinates on a tile-based map.

something I didn't need for a Sunday morning: my #Ubuntu 25.10 media machine will no longer login via gdm3 since the last upgrade, I can use a console to run gnome-shell -wayland without issue, but the gdm3 (even re-installed) just returns to the list of users and after the first attempt will no longer offer to enter passwords and hangs.
I did inadvertently leave my keyboard unlocked and two cats in the house left unattended, but it was logged into the guest account, so I doubt they did this 😅
Curiously their snap-edition "firefox -kiosk <url>" now also hangs.
I don't want to spend too much on this: as soon as no.4 son drops by to unlock the broken Win10 and fetch his stuff, I will wipe the thing to install Debian 13 anyway.

I added enough Linux support to picolibc to run lua; the lua test suite found a number of core picolibc bugs. This whole adventure suddenly turns out to have actual value and not just comic relief.
I now have a shell script that adapts gcc to using picolibc and have built a small number of applications including snek, nickle and lua.

Wahey! Finally got a shell on my Asus Zenbook (the one with the deadscreen); the hacked ePD converter is working in the firmware, but Linux isn't happy with it - yet - so a lot of cloud-init hackery with the qualcomm ubuntu images was needed; I still need to figure out how to run the install to the M.2 🙂

RE: todon.eu/@CrimethInc/116240955
We have a revolutionary moment in our hands. I cannot express strongly enough how important it is to seize this moment.
We must *build* an alternative society, starting by drawing people in and giving them opportunities to create a better future. We cannot win with logical arguments, because people are not logical. We must demonstrate, through experience, what we mean when we talk about liberation, autonomy, and mutual aid. We must create the new world in the shell of the old, here and now, so people can understand what it is we are fighting for. This is our best opportunity, right now, to reach out while the window is wide open.
If we miss this opportunity, we may not get another.

Attempting to use arch, btw, in a VM for the first time (to set up a ngscopeclient CI builder).
Coming from Debian... wow this is not a noob distro lol. So far I've had to manually partition the disk in a shell, configure everything from the keymap to the time zone by editing config files or creating symlinks. There's no top level install tool as far as I can tell.
And grub didn't auto detect anything so now I have I think a fully installed system but I'm stuck in…

🥳 New JavaScript Database (JSDB) release

Just noticed that the pretty keypaths of the JavaScript deltas written to the append-only log were ignoring array indices while playing with a new database introspection call I’m adding to the Kitten Interactive Shell (REPL) and fixed it.
I’ll be updating Kitten shortly to use this version of JSDB and I…

Still not feeling great, but figured today would be a great day to finally test out the entirety of the custom FF6 cart I built so long ago. Broke out the Sony PVM-2530, got everything hooked up, and now it's time to beat all of the things down.
The SNES is modded with Voultar's SNESRGB mod, and the video/audio goes out via a SCART connector into the SCART switch (`gscart`), then into the CMPTR adapter, _then_ into the Sony PVM.
I do have two SCART switches, and if you…

Right, that'll be the 30pin panel connector then - you can see the two differential data pairs and the aux pair on the right side; and a couple of damn fine cables going to the panel itself. And ooh test points.

A close up of the connector on the back of an LCD panel; it's a 30 way connector with a nice brassish shell, and about 20 or so are connected. There's conductive tape around the cable and it's on a PCB with a chip and various passives.
One part of the board of the LCD showing another chip, passives and a damn fine pitch ribbon to the PCB, and some test points.
