One important thing I need to keep in mind with LibreWolf is that when something does not work I need to check if it works in Firefox.
For instance the TrueNAS shell was not working, and I realized that TrueNAS wasn't broken, LibreWolf was just "protecting" me...
Which again, is a good thing, but it's sometime a bit too much protection for those of us who know what we are doing.

GNU Parallel is such a nice program. It has a bunch of features that, sure, you could cobble together with a program or shell script, but that with Parallel are just a flag away.

It’s just --pipe --round-robin --recstart 'some delimiter'.

Survivors of Super Typhoon Odette are making history—they're suing Shell in UK courts for its role in fueling the climate crisis.
Their argument: Shell's emissions made the devastating storm more likely and more severe. It's part of a growing movement to hold Big Oil accountable for climate damages, especially in vulnerable regions like the Philippines that face repeated destruction.
"We don't deserve this," they say—and they're fighting back.

A big open warehouse, bright and clean, filled with racks holding artifacts like furniture, clothes, instruments,... People mill around, but not too many.

I did some “coding” over the weekend, but the output isn’t code, it’s structured as Standard Operating Procedure documents that automate the things I wanted done in repeatable ways. It’s human readable, but it was written by Claude to be run by Claude. In the past this could have been a bunch of shell scripts but that would have been more rigid and fragile, harder to develop and understand, and much less functional.

Running legacy services directly on a public IP is a mess in 2026.
I've got a toy project listening on :23 (Telnet) and :22 (SSH), on a public IP. I've only shared this information with a few friends. Scanners are finding it.
I had to put a “enter nnnn at the prompt" on the Telnet port.
Tonight's new abuse: one SSH connection but MANY session channels within that connection, probing for accounts (on a system that is not serving login/shell on this ssh port)…

Apparently Timothy Doyle, a well known Marvel artist has been making some Anti-ICE art using The Punisher, Wolverine and Ghost Rider.
(h/t to bsky.app/profile/roterote.bsky)

Top image The Punisher with an ICE agent at gunpoint. Text reads:

"OH GOD, PLEASE...
I HAVE A FAMILY!"
HE SAYS...
"SO DID THEY," I SAY. YOU DIDN'T CARE, WHY SHOULD I?"

Bottom image a close up of Frank Castle’s face with a shell casing flying past. Text reads:

"5.5 POUNDS OF PRESSURE AND ANOTHER NAZI GONE."

"I TRY NOT TO SMILE.

"IT STILL HAPPENS.”
Wolverine stabbing an ICE agent through the skull and another ICE agent through the chest.
Ghost Rider on his motorcycle dragging one ICE agent along the ground and forcing his head to the pavement while he holds a second ICE agent by the neck. Text reads:

“THE RIDER APPEARED
FLYING DOWN THE STREET AT 90 MPH, GRABBING THE AGENT BY THE NECK.
THE SOUND OF HIS SPINE SNAPPING COULD BE HEARD DOWN THE BLOCK.
OLIC
THE SECOND GUY...
THE RIDER PRESSED HIS HEAD INTO THE STREET, GRINDING IT DOWN LIKE A BELT SANDER.

THEY FOUND HIM

So, The Core (in no particular order):
1. Slackware with nwg-shell Sway, Niri and Mango
2. Gentoo dwm
3. Aurorix, my KDE container spin.
4. FreeBSD 15 with Mango
5. Slackware Flatbrew, a KDE QT6 experimental iso, with Brew and Flatpaks (thnx @… 😉)
All working superbly.

Internally the registered completion function runs kubectl __complete with the same terms, like: `kubectl __complete get ns ku`, which emits a list of terms back to the completion function.
kubectl can be run with higher verbosity (eg -v6) to see the underlying requests being made to the remote server, but they're the normal ones to retrieve a list of resources (eg GET https://10.11.12.13:6443/api/v1/namespaces?limit=500).

I've recently stumbled upon an RCE "exploit" for the Serendipity blog software, which I happen to use and have contributed to in the past. From what I can tell, it does nothing interesting (it does not even work due to broken indents, if one fixes that it uploads a PHP shell given existing credentials, but that won't be executed unless you have a server config that executes .inc files). I'm 95% certain this is bogus. Yet... in case anyone wants to have a look:

Content warning: tech, linux

It seems like GNOME Shell on Wayland doesn't like it if a GPU gets removed during runtime. At least on Bazzite, it threw me back into Gaming Mode and I had to switch to the desktop again, losing all my open windows.
Well, I expected worse, so I had saved my work before. 😄
But that does set some limits on what I can do using some scripts I found on GitHub. In case a Mutter or GNOME dev reads this here: Are there any plans to gracefully switch between GPUs during runtime?

This newly processed image from the NASA/ESA #Hubble Space Telescope is the clearest view yet of the #EggNebula: #PreplanetaryNebula, a structure of gas and dust created as a Sun-like star approaches the end of its life. The Egg that we see now will eventually hatch, revealing a white dwarf at its centre and leaving its shell to become a spectacular planetary nebula.

Still not feeling great, but figured today would be a great day to finally test out the entirety of the custom FF6 cart I built so long ago. Broke out the Sony PVM-2530, got everything hooked up, and now it's time to beat all of the things down.
The SNES is modded with Voultar's SNESRGB mod, and the video/audio goes out via a SCART connector into the SCART switch (`gscart`), then into the CMPTR adapter, _then_ into the Sony PVM.
I do have two SCART switches, and if you…

hmm i had got the impression that poached eggs are tricky
because of all the fussy things tv chefs do
like swirling the water or adding vinegar or separating the loose white from the tight white
but i thought, what’s the worst that could happen if i don’t do any of those things?
it turns out, nothing bad
so, just
bring a pan of salted water up to a bare simmer
break eggs from the shell directly into the pan so they are a few cm apart
leave them…
