Just ran a successful non-interactive build and test cycle of ngscopeclient in a Debian VM with a PCIe passthrough GPU.
Just start the VM from the snapshot, paste a handful of shell commands into a SSH session, and I get this.
Still need to work out how to actually spawn the VM, specify the hash I want to build, shut it down and revert when done, etc.
Took only three and a half minutes on this instance (16GB RAM, 16 vCPU, GTX 1630) which is pretty decent considering there w…

The two Dutch gas storages of NAM, operated by Gasterra (Shell/Exxon/Dutch government) are now completely empty: filling level 0.00%. The reason given is the winding down of Gasterra, which used to sell the Groningen gas. But one would say that a new operator could have bought the remaining gas.

Three lines from agsi.gie.eu data: NAM 0.00%, both in Grijpskerk and in Norg.

Apple might be in a better position than others to launch this successfully because it can build it on an established base (all iPhones out there). Still don‘t see the use cases though. And don‘t even mention privacy issues 🙄

In all excitement et all I tend to forget how solid nwg-shell on Sway actually is. All frills if you want them, it just works. Foot as terminal is making a strong comeback also. Slackware Tilers has been my main home for 40 days now. Ain't leaving anytime soon.

Das war im Endeffekt ineffektiv.
Dennoch kann ich jedem, der immer mal wieder auf der Shell arbeiten muss, empfehlen, den Umgang damit zu lernen.

Me: I really need to launch the things I’m building with Kitten¹ this year.
Also me: You know what would be sweet? If I added an introspection API to make working with the Kitten Shell (REPL)² easier.
(It is going to be sweet though. Prototyping it in the REPL now and I’ll record a little demo when I’m done and it’s released. It’s going to make examining and affecting the state of the client from the server interactively even easier.)

Right, that'll be the 30pin panel connector then - you can see the two differential data pairs and the aux pair on the right side; and a couple of damn fine cables going to the panel itself. And ooh test points.

A close up of the connector on the back of an LCD panel; it's a 30 way connector with a nice brassish shell, and about 20 or so are connected. There's conductive tape around the cable and it's on a PCB with a chip and various passives.
One part of the board of the LCD showing another chip, passives and a damn fine pitch ribbon to the PCB, and some test points.

It's been a while but I was reminded that Java is shit.
Python is better, but has issues, mostly because of macOS.
And macOS permissions for user-created applications are a nightmare!
But a big, big thanks goes out to tools like Platypus.
"Platypus is a developer tool that creates native Mac applications from command line scripts such as shell scripts or Python, Perl, Ruby, Tcl, JavaScript and PHP programs."

hmm i had got the impression that poached eggs are tricky
because of all the fussy things tv chefs do
like swirling the water or adding vinegar or separating the loose white from the tight white
but i thought, what’s the worst that could happen if i don’t do any of those things?
it turns out, nothing bad
so, just
bring a pan of salted water up to a bare simmer
break eggs from the shell directly into the pan so they are a few cm apart
leave them…
