Finding $d$-Cuts in Graphs of Bounded Diameter, Graphs of Bounded Radius and $H$-Free Graphs
The $d$-Cut problem is to decide if a graph has an edge cut such that each vertex has at most $d$ neighbours at the opposite side of the cut. If $d=1$, we obtain the intensively studied Matching Cut problem. The $d$-Cut problem has been studied as well, but a systematic study for special graph classes was lacking. We introduce a technique for producing a measure coupling between two sofic groups from a family of maps between their sofic approximations. We exploit this to construct measure couplings between pairs of groups with prescribed integrability conditions. As an application we show that solvable Baumslag-Solitar groups, Lamplighters and the group SOL are all exponentially measure equivalent to one another: in particular they are L^p measure equivalent for all p. Forced 3D reconnection in an exponentially separating magnetic field
We present a solvable scenario for 3D reconnection in a sheared magnetic field. We consider a localized external force that is applied slowly to a flux tube and then maintained, generating an Alfvénic perturbation that spreads along the field lines. Separation of the sheared field lines reduces the scale of the perturbation across the field, enhancing magnetic diffusion.
