Speaking of which I am really excited to find out that Thomas Jane, who played Joe Miller in The Expanse, my other favorite Science Fiction TV, will be playing Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy in the final episode of Series 5 of Star Trek: Next Generation!
Unfortunately even though its in production now, it won't be shown for at least 1 years from now (Season 4 is supposed to come out some time this year).

I can't stop being astounded how smoothly everything plays these days. And Wine 11 is fantastic. Proton will get even better with it.

I'd imagine for some people this could also be one of the uncomfortable, deep episodes exactly because of this. It's a very measured Star Trek series, chaotic and goofy as it might seem. Holly Hunter is great as she gradually grows on you, all cuddly and cat-like 🥰
I demand and fully expect of Starfleet Academy to produce some of the most memorable Star Trek space adventure episodes as well!

@LaChasseuse@mastodon.scotGot offered a free trial week of Paramount, so I decided to have a look at the latest 🚀 Star Trek.
I had read that the first episodes were awful, so I jumped in at episode 9, which has a thumbnail showing Robert Picardo (the holographic Doctor). This was a fortunate choice, as it and nr 10 (finale) were excellent.
I then watched 1-3, skipping over the violent bits, and then stopped.
I felt I'd enjoyed what I'd seen, but didn't feel any need to see the rest.

Something about the premise of the penultimate episode, "Terrarium", felt too derivative, and I forgot about the series. Now that I watched both episodes, I have to say, "New Life and New Civilizations" hit all the right notes on the theremin. SNW is indulging and beautifully crafted Trek.

I don't care what other people say
Just binged on all 3 of the first episodes and loved them! I had my doubts, but they were all photon torpedoed into loving the show.
Yeah, it’s about kids. But as they said, “It's a school”.
The show brings the core ideals and philosophy of Star Trek and makes them into excellent teachable moments.
Looking forward to the cast gelling as it always takes time for a new Star Trek to get its footing. But it’s pretty solid already. Love what Holly Hunter is doing with the chancellor/captain. Gina Yashere is totally amazing and can feel her joy in the roll in every scene she's in. And Tig Notaro is totally fabulously funny in a so dry sort of way. Also being partners with Gina's character is just perfect in being so unperfect.
