Reading a Star Trek TNG script, episode where a child has an “imaginary” friend that turns out to be an alien (s5e22).
In the 5th act, she says to her friend/the alien Isabella, “if Captain Picard says so, it’s true, Isabella.”
And I got a little misty eyed: for a leader to inspire such trust that the children of the people they lead know the leader can be trusted is a kind of wonderful thing.

Star Trek Insurrection.
Haven’t seen it for ages.
Saw a clip about #genocide on YouTube from it… seemed like a good watch.
A better time for American storytelling….
