Back in 2022, after #StormArwen, I rolled up a section of the fence around my wood so that I could haul fallen timber out of the south end of my wood. There's still a lot of fallen timber there, but I think I have hauled out as much as I practically can. So today I decided to get the fence back up.
Of course, brambles had grown through the rolled up fence, so it was far beyond my stre…

Starting the unroll. The winch line from the tractor is taken through a turning block at the farm gateway, and hooked into the roll. There's a mess of fallen timber in the foreground, which will be outside the fence once it is back up, and which is destined to become firewood.

Behind, the wood is still a mess, but the young oak trees along the edge of it are just coming into leaf.
(This picture is accidentally on its side, my apologies) Starting the unroll. The rolled fence has been pulled clear of the weeds, and is unrolling under the branches of the oak trees.
The fence more or less fully unrolled along the edge of the wood. Some of the fence posts are broken and will need to be replaced.
The fence fully unrolled and tensioned, but not yet upright.

A Pizza Delivery (PC, PS5, Xbox) "B" is making her final delivery of the day, but it turns into a surreal journey through a strange world.
So I don't really want to describe this game more than the line above, I feel this is one of those ones it's best to just experience. One of those "artsy" type games. It's introspective at times. You interact with odd characters. There's things to collect and read.
The graphics are pretty simple s…

I watched the entire first season of Stargate SG1 and the conclusion is: it's quite boring. Not terrible yet very mellow, shallow and trivial all the time.
It's an attempt to grasp at the star treck success without any of the philosophical deep shit going on there. It's only the sparkling space new thing and very boring and never challenging stories.
No "robots have rights" moment, nor "there are four lights" moment, nor anything remotely as deep.…

Feeling this one hard.
[via my old friend, Martin_FFF]

Two people holding hands, looking out the window of a high-rise building at a dark cityscape. Overlaid text: "The world turning to shit" , on one person's back "Me", on the other person's back "Star Trek". I think it's a still from a film, but I'm not sure which one.

We’re not yet sure whether TOI-2155b is quite a star.
But it seems to live on the fascinating boundary between a celestial beacon blazing through the heavens and a failed star that never quite ignites sustained hydrogen fusion.
If an object isn’t quite big enough to generate much pressure
– or if fusion doesn’t really kick off properly for some other reason
– the gas becomes a kind of “failed star” known as a brown dwarf.
These objects are hot early in life,

I am only halfway through this, but I had to stop twice thinking “I need to share this”. It is an enjoyable read, but also one where I pause constantly to think about each morsel.
So I am sharing now:

nophenia (PC) Wander through the dreams(?) of a wolf girl.
Taking a break from the thinky pain games with nophenia, which showed up in my Steam discovery queue and I thought "well that's odd looking" and just bought it on a whim. I don't really want to say too much about this game(?) as it's another one of those things you just kinda have to experience.
Functionally, it's a low poly 3rd person walking sim in which you traverse some surreal landscape…
