Just started an overhaul of my second lab rack focused on making it more useful and maybe saving a bit of power.
First step: shutting down Octavius (named after Doc Ock), the lone 2U server on the rack. I added a 10m active usb 2.0 cable and powered hub and now the AC701 is connected via usb passthrough to a VM on the Xen server.
At some point I'll probably unrack it to reclaim the space but for now it's just sitting there taking up space.
Also rearranged some rack …

Steps Into The Unknown (2025)
(Actually a lie, since this was taken on the way back, just before sunset, but it was "into the unknown" a six hours earlier... These steps of the only partially secured path are leading up to around 100 meters above/along the increasingly more steep and narrow canyon. The rocks/slopes on the left go up almost another 2000m [out of view, of course]...)
