Yeah, Jimmy “I’m actually quite in favour of business and capitalism and all that”* Wales, the surveillance capitalist and Fandom-president adtech man who once told me he doesn’t believe in any form of government regulation – not even in food standards or healthcare – can go fuck himself.
Find better heroes. Or even better yet, get over the whole stupid concept itself.

Their plan seems NOT to try and eliminate or at least minimize these ads, but rather to see if they can extract premium rates because the ads have been IDENTIFIED as scams.
JFC, why would anyone do business with this company. Why would functioning governments (this sadly excludes the US rn) allow this company to operate within its borders.
This is not a whoopsie. This is a deliberate corporate decision to allow users to be preyed upon and profit from it.

Esta entrevista es un imperdible para todos a quienes les preocupa el curso de la internet actual, la privacidad y los derechos digitales en general. 10 minutos de lectura que valen la pena.

Wow, seems the people farmers of surveillance capitalism have fully embraced scammer techniques now.
Ran into this new flow on a number of sites just now (Indiewire, Variety, and RollingStone) delivered by the colossal douchebags at html-load.com who run report-error.com.
They make it look like a browser error has occurred and then tell you to disable your tracker/ad blocker.
To the asshole developers who built this for them instead of refusing: Fuck you for making everyone…

Web page that looks like a browser error being served from https://report.error-error.com…
