A clever solution for buildings that can't handle traditional solar panels is coming to Australia.
Smart Commercial and Over Easy Solar are launching prefab vertical rooftop systems with bifacial panels that install easily on structures with weight limits or design constraints. The vertical setup shifts power generation to morning and afternoon hours, complementing standard rooftop arrays.
Don’t get me wrong: I think it is •still• worth haranguing congress to use the powers they have and crank all these legal gears as hard as they can. It’s perhaps worth it now more than ever as the MAGA coalition falters and politicians look to their own post-Trump survival. There are battles to win there.
I’m just saying we shouldn’t pin our primary hopes on the legal system. Massive, relentless popular opposition is the bedrock here.
Why not switch your crappy software from crappy #SCons build system to even more crappy #Bazel build system over a patch release, call it "fully backwards compatible", and then effectively leave all the distros stuck on old versions with half a dozen vulnerabilities?
Yeah, just a random reminder that #MongoDB is total crap, and you shouldn't use it. Or expect people to package it for you.

Maintaining accurate timing in virtual machines has always been a challenge. Especially on hosts with many VMs.
Here's a clever solution, hopefully coming soon to a hypervisor or OS near you.

MOB lukt dus wel wat de overheid niet lukt.
She is quick and clever ❤️ I hid 5 treats in the #puzzle and boom they were gone 😆
It took her a couple of months to figure out how the wheel worked but now nothing is stopping her 🙃

So I think about one of the central thesis of Joseph Weizenbaum a lot.
It’s essentially an extension of “there’s no technical solutions to social problems”; it posits that computers are widely used to immortalize and amplify social problems while preventing reforms.
And it has gotten much worse since he wrote about this in the 1970s.
Two of the examples he gives are nation/world-wide stock exchanges and automated trading (lead to wealth concentration and gambling), as well as highly complex but wasteful, punishing and unfair welfare systems (instead of e.g. UBI).
