@bencurthoys@mastodon.socialI personally don't mind either film version, but you have to approach them in the right frame of mind and accept that they are different mediums suitable for telling different stories. If you hated the LoTR films definitely don't bother with the Odyssey.
I do wonder what Jackson's Odyssey would have been like though. Much more supernatural, for a start. In Nolan's LoTR we wouldn't even have seen the Balrog, it would just be a shadow.
