Looking deeper into the Trion architecture.
It's definitely a lot simpler than the Xilinx architectures I spend most of my time working with. There's no dedicated carry chains after the LUTs, instead each logic cell can be configured as either a LUT4 *or* a full adder. And there's no FxMUXs.
This means that some structures like 3-input adders are much less area efficient on Trion than on e.g. 7 series.
I'm definitely going to have to do a bunch more testing …

📈 Bioscience researchers shared data in 92% of articles that we manually evaluated from 2023. In the chart 👇 orange shading shows 45% of articles shared ALL the relevant data, up from 7% in 2014👏. Sharing varied by data type as expected, 🧬 vs. 🔬, among several other factors.
Thanks to BIH QUEST @ChariteBerlin for ODDPub, which gave a parallel, programmatic evaluation.

In contrast, testing an international sample of circadian, neuroscience and mental health articles by the same manual method … 2/3

As for “but it's great for coding!“…
…world-wide there's about 3.6 billion jobs or so, of which ~25 million are in software development; this means maybe about 0.7% of all jobs world-wide can use "great for coding".
Writing actual code amounts to maybe, if you're lucky, 10% of the work a software developer does.
The rest is meetings, high-level specifications, email and chat, more meetings, learning new things, updating stuff, lots of testing and debugging, etc.
The gist is, the supposed gains from "AI" are completely irrelevant (and indeed there's signs and studies that show it doesn't do anything for programmer productivity either).
tl;dr: This is the worst economic bubble in history, pushing a dream of a magical technology that unfortunately doesn't work, by appealing to investor greed.

What is going on in the land of Fedora Linux?
First, the latest kernel in Fedora 42 recently went from "working" to "broken" with regard to the video screen on Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 155H on an ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. NUC14RVK-B/NUC14RVBU7
Second, the update repositories now all have invalid checksums. (Update: this is now corrected.)
Fedora is Redhat is IBM - you would think that they could do some regression testing and maybe do a better locking of t…

Claude Sonnet 4.0 describes the image as: "This image shows a scene with dramatic lighting and shadows cast across a futuristic interior setting. The character is wearing a dark, high-collared outfit typical of the series' distinctive costume design. The background features the show's characteristic sterile, technological aesthetic with clean lines and geometric patterns. The lighting creates an atmospheric effect with strong contrasts between light and shadow, emphasizing the serious, tense mo…
