I'm gonna bump this again because this is part of what I've been talking about for a long time. The state is withdrawing. People are suffering because the system they depend on is collapsing. We have an opportunity to fill that gap.
If we do what the state can't, we do more than a thousand arguments ever could. We show people what we're actually talking about. We show that systems built for people can actually work. More importantly, we can actually help people who need help.
This is mutual aid. As the polycrisis continues to compound, there may well come a time when you need services the state or capitalist markets used to provide and they aren't there. By building power in the face of failure, you improve your chances that someone else will be able to do the same for you.
