Occasionally, just occasionally when cycling around I encounter someone who is actively angry about the unicycle, penny farthing or (now) the tallbike.
I have no idea why but some old angry guy was shouting at me today. I ignored him and did not engage. Best not to, I think. 🤷
some of yall i wanna talk to alot more but we both have our different things we usually talk abt and idk enough abt yours to strike up a convo and i never know how to ask random shit out the blue without pain and suffering for everybody and and and
Wow, #pythonPoetry v2 sure introduced many breaking changes. They outsourced `poetry shell` (a very important and IMHO core command for entering a shell with the virtual environment activated) into a plugin (wtf 🤨) that you need to provide separately.
That poetry can't pin itself bit me quite a couple of times with the v2 transition. They also changed the behaviour of the -C flag (r…
best reaction i've yet seen to someone blasting unwanted music from their phone on the subway: a bunch of teens shouting endless requests. solidarity! #nyc
Bought a nothing phone to explore Android a bit more. the hardware is super nice. Struggling a bit to cope with the ui things tho. Specially miss pull down to search which i use all the time on iOS side. Also in general things feel a bit more weird and glitchy. Sure I'll get used to it tho. Already installed nix-on-droid which is super nice.
Calamus 15 O drops of me!
It's a remarkably morbid poem for Whitman, literally about blood dropping from wounds, corrupting his poetry.
stain every song I sing, every word I say, bloody drops
But he turns this blood into a sort of virtue that infuses his poem, starting with an inversion. It's not "saturate yourself with the drops". Instead it's saturate them with yourself.
Saturate them with yourself, all ashamed and wet,
Glow upon all I have written or shall write, bleeding drops,
Let it all be seen in your light, blushing drops.
I can make a case for a queer reading of recognizing gay shame and overcoming it. To take the stigma of homosexuality and turn it into a virtue, "let it all be seen in your light".
But I think I may be out on a limb with that interpretation. Whitman's not typically a writer about shame. And I think "gay shame" doesn't apply well as a concept in the 1850s, that's a malady that comes with a backlash against modern gay identity.
The European Commission is accepting feedback on their plans through a form here.
Everyone should have their say, as everyone will be affected.
But particularly do go back to them if you have expertise in managing sensitive data.
Or app design.
Or teens.

Another day waiting around for builders from 7am only to be told at 1.30pm they're not actually gonna appear.
I might start a career as a professional ghost hunter, I think I'd have more chance of spotting my quarry.
Couldn't work last night, all today wasted. Fucking brilliant.
Anyone have good suggestions on CompTiA network plus classes on YouTube? (or cheap online like Udemy or something). Since we have gone to Cisco phones, the phone people need to know way more about networking than they do presently. I was thinking a Network would get them the basics, and let the network folks off the hook for dealing with things that annoy them. (Like telecom people) The usual budget cuts are preventing me sending anyone to a class, and these folks are not 'read the manu…
