Repeating what's in my profile… I treat Bluesky as a 2nd platform & mostly am on the #Fediverse. My bridged Mastodon account got "suspended" by Bluesky for no reason I could discern, so my posts there never get here. & while I often retoot my skeets, I don't turn many of my toots into skeets.

The Fediverse is mercifully free of sport toots. It's such a relief to be here, even after a brief look at the butterfly site.

It's like clockwork that people feel the urge to bash Apple when you criticize Google.
Apple is certainly not without fault, but they're the only big tech company who gives a shit about privacy.
They also usually aren't sacks of shit to their customers and they are actually driving technology forward to be more useful to human beings (e.g. M-series chips).
Plus they're not cramming "AI" into everything. It's entirely optional to use any of the "Apple Intelligence" stuff and their operating systems are supported on hardware that doesn't even allow running it.

Here's a reminder that you can block hashtags on Mastodon. I'm pretty consistent about tagging politics, typically with USpol or ScottPolitics or both, but also topical tags such as IranWar2026 and POTUS47. If you don't want to see those types of toots, then I encourage you to block them.
I don't CW all generic politics posts. This topic too much to fully explain in 500 chars, but short version: I use CW for spoilers and topics that are commonly trauma-triggering.

@… I don't know whether "incentive" (or disincentive) covers this, but I often find myself temporarily muting people whose toots have been boosted by people who I continue to follow without muting.

I curate only the finest toots 🧐

I am trying to restrain my boosting habits more. I realized that duplicate boosts are still a nuisance for some folks, so I am trying to remember that most toots I see because of boosting have probably hit the feeds of everyone who follows me.
I still have old #FowlSite algorithm-feeding habits, even when that's not really a thing here.
