Following Australian accounts is a little bit like time travelling.
call me crazy but I don't think competitive sports should have moneyback guarantees. if you only support your club when you're winning you should just stick to watching sports films

NS International Railways tries to make international rail travel even harder. Screenshot by my daughter, travelling from Barcelona to Rotterdam today. The app is informing her that the train from Paris to Rotterdam leaves on the same platform at Gare du Lyon where the train from Barcelona arrives. Not really. It leaves from a different station (Gare du Nord), about half an hour away by RER city train. 🤦♂️🤦♀️🤦

The Westham Island Bridge remains closed to vehicles, as crews continue damage assessment and repairs.
The City of Delta will be providing shuttle service between the bridge, Wellington Point Park, Ladner Centre, and the Ladner Bus Loop. This will allow people travelling to or from Westham Island to take the shuttle to the bridge and walk across, or make the return trip the same way.
More information will be provided when available.

Abstract: We emphasize that construction of travelling wave solutions for partial differential equations is a problem of considerable interest and thus introduce a simple algebraic method to generate such solutions for equations in the Burgers hierarchy. Our method based on a judicious use of the well known Cole-Hopf transformation is found to work satisfactorily for higher Burgers equations for which the direct method of integration is inapplicable. For Burgers equation we clearly demonstrate how does the diffusion term in the equation counteract the nonlinearity to result in a smooth wave. We envisage a similar study for higher equations in the Buggers hierarchy and establish that (i) as opposed to the solution of the Burgers equation, the purely nonlinear terms of these equations support smooth solutions and more interestingly (ii) the complete solutions of all higher-order equations are identical.

Today's #TuneTuesday is #PedalPowerSongs, tunes about bikes. This is dangerous territory, involving two of my favorite things. I'll try to control myself.
Among other things, this tune is about the city wanting to kill those of us who aren't travelling by car.

Minor kerfuffle with #evlife charging at my parents means it's going to be a two stop strategy getting home today. At least my policy of always having my #steamdeck when travelling pays off. To get to 80% charge is about one round of Vampire Survivors 😉

EVs are surprisingly powerful. This is not an endorsement to drive badly, but here's a relevant anecdote.
Yesterday, I was moving along our local freeway just above the posted 110kph limit when I started to get boxed in by some silly drivers doing silly things and acting erractically.
In order to avoid any possibility of a bad situation, I moved into the passing lane and accelerated quickly to go around someone and separate myself from the crowd.
I stepped on the “gas” and easily went around the person in a few seconds… then I looked down and realized I was doing 150kph.
Whoa horsey!🐎
I pulled back into the travelling lane and slowed down to 115kph.
That kind of acceleration, especially at that already high cruising speed, just wasn’t possible in any other car I've ever owned.
EVs are great, but they are still vehicles that can reach dangerously high speeds.
Here's another anecdote: Last week my daughter was very nearly run over by a truck as she was walking in a crosswalk. She was halfway across the street when an (oversized) pickup truck turned left across her, completely on a red light. She is relatively small in stature, her head would have barely been above the hood of the truck.
She saw it at the last second and jumped back... the truck missed by inches. Another car at the intersection honked at the truck. It stopped in the crosswalk, the driver gave HER a dirty look, and zoomed off. The car driver who honked leaned out the window and kindly asked if she was ok. She was.
Driving is the most dangerous thing we do on a daily basis.. for ourselves, and everyone around us. Take care out there friends.
