From early on in the renewable revolution,
batteries were envisaged as a critical part of the puzzle.
Homes would be able to install panels on their roofs to capture and convert solar energy,
and batteries in their homes to store the energy and use it when they needed it.
But while solar panel prices fell rapidly a few years ago, it is only in recent years that batteries have become similarly available and affordable.

It's official, my nomination is in! I'll be on the ballot in the Galway West by-election.
Make the govt pay for their multiple crises and demand a Galway we can live in.
• Price caps for fuel, energy, and essential goods
• Ban evictions and short-term lets
• Build a state run construction company
• Defend our neutrality, US military out of Shannon, pass the OTB with goods & services
• I commit to never go into coalition with a FG or FF govt
Holy. Fucking. Fuckballs.
This exploit is... insane.

Idly wondering what this announcement from Peters in support of Rail in this time of fossil fuel crisis really means. Does he perhaps think he can work with the Greens and shut out Labour? I think that'd be terrifying, but also interesting. The Greens might well have an opportunity at becoming a major party seeing what's happening in the UK right now... They'd have to change their messaging here, though.
Fossil fuel supply crisis?
Germany's Economy Minister Reiche, speaking at a US oil and gas conference, has the answer:
Keep using more fossil fuels longer!

I wrote a static site generator for a course web site (https://comp127.macalester.digital/f25/). I like it, and I’m poking at documenting and open-sourcing it so that other instructors can use it for their own courses if they want to.
It needs a cute name. Suggestion box is now open in the replies.
EDIT: I was a fool to mention Moodle in the original version. It’s wrecked the replies: everyone’s talking about LMSes, and all the name suggestions are about Moodle — when the point is that this is not anti-Moodle, but a tool to solve a different set of problems.
Health Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr, on Tuesday added to his lengthening catalog of bizarre wild animal encounters by
posting to social media a video of himself in Florida wrestling with two snakes.
Kennedy, who has previously admitted dumping the carcass of a bear cub in New York’s Central Park,
and is also alleged to have cut the penis off a road-kill raccoon,
is seen grabbing the pair of serpents with his bare hands.
The oil crisis triggered by the Iran war has changed the fossil fuel industry for ever,
turning countries away from fossil fuels to secureenergy supplies,
the world’s leading energy economist said.
Fatih Birol, the executive director of the International Energy Agency (IEA),
also said that, despite pressure,
the UK should forgo much of its potential North Sea expansion.
Birol said a key effect of the US-Israel war on Iran was that countries would lose trust…
