I would be so happy if Apple assigned one person to go through the standard mystery junk in ~/Library & /var & identify what is & isn’t really in need of TimeMachine backup.
One of my pathologies is watching TM, pondering why it sometimes completes in 3min but another time takes 3d. So much of the stuff in ~Library and /var is pointless to back up because it churns and it regenerates when missing. DuetExpertCenter? GroupContainers? /var/db/uuid? Who knows what they all …
