Det finns något genialt över de stilistiska valen i den klassiska partisansången (från FPO) Shtil, di nacht iz oisgeshternt. Naturpoetiskt språk och en stilla romantisk melodi typisk för sin tids jiddischsånger vaggar in en samtidigt som den skildrar en aktion mot nazisterna. Jag vaknar i regel till av den allitererande raden "געצילט, געשאָסן און געטראָפֿן" (getsilt, geshosn un getrofn - siktat, skjutet och träffat).
