Waking up and taking our dog out for a walk… at 6:00am the sky has the yellowish glow that we have unfortunately come to know means… #wildfire smoke here in #Vermont. 😞 Most likely from fires burning up in northern Quebec or elsewhere in Canada. And weather app confirms AQI of 104.

I do like waking up on the first morning of a four day long weekend off. No salt mine until Monday!

Things I hate waking up: Text from family saying "email isn't working." Ugh.

It seems as though I'm always too involved with my life to remember solstice. This, even as my body remembers by waking up to bright morning sun and my kids remember by not wanting to sleep while the sun is still out. I feel as though life would be so much easier if we didn't live in a society that disconnects us from the rhythms of life.
