I listen to radio via streaming via scripts that run ffplay on the various URLs. Recently several stations have started playing adverts at the start, unless you've connected recently. I'm trying to see if wget-ing 45 secs of these URLs at the start of the session will avoid this.
Main reason: when I turn on the device, I channel hop to see what I want to listen to. If I have to wait a minute to see what they're playing, I pass on to another station.
This'll take…

I use a few apps for the CLI because, over the years, I've come to prefer efficiency and speed over fancy features. Newsboat, Castero, ffmpeg, yt-dlp, wget, git, toot, ssh, etc.
However, there are a few that never seem to stick around on my CLI. Neither mutt, ranger, ncmcpp, nor similar apps have managed to establish themselves on my computers... And I don't think they will at this point.

for i in {00000..00496}; do wget virusshare.com/hashfiles/Virus; done
echo MD5 > VS_full.txt
for i in {00000..00496}; do cat VirusShare_$i.md5 | grep -v '#' >> ./VS_full.txt; done
kthxbye :)

Anyone happens to know if there's any easy trick to bypass an Incapsula "security firewall" that thinks downloading with curl/wget is an attack to be prevented? (It's not just the user agent, I tried that.)

I've been using wget for years, but until today I didn't know that you can resume a failed download just by adding the -c variable, i.e., wget -c url.
A new tip for the collection.
