#WritersCoffeeClub
7. Have you ever gone away somewhere special expressly to write?
8. How many narrative voices does your current WIP have?
9. Recommend a fellow writer you believe is underappreciated.
---
7. No. I don't have the money to do that.
8. None. I don't have a personal WIP.
9. Negative. As much as I'd love to recommend anyone, I bare…

They are obviously not far behind, but a bit more a WIP. KDE Plasma 6.4.4 on OpenBSD -current. Exciting to see!

“Leopard seal songs have a surprisingly structured temporal pattern,” said Lucinda Chambers, lead author of the study and Ph.D. candidate at the University of New South Wales.
“When we compared their songs to other studies of vocal animals and of human music, we found their information entropy
— a measure of how predictable or random a sequence is
— was remarkably close to our own nursery rhymes

Started work on the PIC12F683 deep dive project.
Here's a WIP shot of the cross section at P2500. Needs just a little more time to center the section in the wire bonds before I switch to finer abrasives for the final polish.

While editing my current #WIP, I've noticed I start the scene info-dumping and only after pages get to the action. Here's how I restructure the scene to be less info-dumpey.

#EroticMusings 17: Do you show off most of what you make, or often practice your craft on things that never get seen by anyone else?
I show most of what I make. I'm too tired and have too little energy for creative endeavours that are not meant to be shared with the public at some point.
My test readers and a couple of artists get to see the WIP including the ugly stages. C…

Part of a bookcover design. You can see a rounded triangle shaped window. The sky is painted in vivid shades of orange slowly morphing into purple. (Going from orange on the top tip and purple on the horizon). Reddish clouds are tinted a vivid orange by the sun that painted the sky so colourful in the first place.
The window is surrounded by semi-translucent bricks in different colours that obscure part of the sky.
There is also a dark-purple dappled background.

Once you are done fighting it, documents typeset with #TexLaTeX are pretty damn rad! 🚀
The automations you can put into place to help you focus on the actual writing are really something else:
- different modes for notes, submission, and publishing
- acronym or physical unit expansion only upon first mention
- auto-generated glossary or symbol list
- and of course a ton…

screencast of Zotero PDF viewer with a page of my WIP dissertation open (the topic is quantifying natural CO2 emissions at the Starzach site). The mouse hovers over different elements of the text, each time a popup shows the portion of the linked page, with a little red dot pointing at exactly the referenced element. In this document, this works for physical quantities (e.g. ρCO2 [kg/m³], which pops up the relevant section of the List of symbols), acronyms (e.g. CO2, which pops up part of the g…

As my first vacation project I started to write my own "meta search engine".
The project is inspired by #Kagi and The custom search engine that "matdoesdev" created: matdoes.dev/metasearch
