Scene 1: doing some kind of collaborative project with a science communication YouTube channel (not specified, i never saw or interacted with the host) led to flooding Alaskan Way in Seattle near the Edgewater Hotel, plus a good chunk of the hotel parking lot, with several inches of water. I got hooked on a German youtube channel where I'm obviously not the target demographic. It's called Flipps and it's aimed at - I think? - Gen Z movie buffs. But it radiates love for cinema. While its presentation is hectic the videos are well-produced and long nevertheless. They contain a lot of background info and film history from a time when their audience's parents hadn't even met.
And a recent episode even recommended the famous "No VFX is just invisible …

I am thinking maybe I should call it even and frame this for keepsakes because my latest video of High on Life bombed so hard, the YouTube algorithm called in and asked me to never show up again. It's a complicated game with lots of coarse language and gruesome animated violence against aggressive, degenerate aliens from outer space. (Nah, no official objections from YouTube, but three of the six views are from me, while I am hitting thousands with other videos.)
