Had a magnetic mounting plate for a smoke detector that was glued to the ceiling and no longer in use after I got a new smoke detector.
And since it was annoying and ugly, and next to a moon lamp, there was only one thing I could realistically do, right?

dehydrating the filament does make a difference for 3D printing. Much less stringing. I'm using my food dehydrator occasionally to dry filament that was sitting outside too long on the printer. ##3Dprint #3Dprinting

I picked my first 3D printer I ever bought based on the desire to print shoes that would fit my feet. (I never actually tried to 3D print shoes in the end.) Being able to 3D print a chair as one single print would be really cool.

*sigh*
Darn those chicken and egg problems.
Killed my 3d-printer's hotend probably by over tightening the nozzle, about to change to another cold/hotend but only now discover that I need two different print head parts. But right now, I don't have a printer capable of printing ABS/ASA...

Finally #3dprinting again. Had some hotend nozzle clogging and learned about different methods to overcome that. Turns out 'cold pull' is best. Now only 2.5 more hours to go. ;)

I'm trying to use paths to make hair in Blender for the first time and it's actually easier and more fun than what I thought! I will still have to do some cleanup but I would have imploded doing this in a different way.

My first print with wood PLA filament, a trefoil knot with rope texture. Initially, there were a few issues with adhesion to the plate, but then it worked quite well with the hardened 0.6 nozzle. #3dprint #bambulab

Made some billfold wallets (4 1/4”x3 5/8”) using my stash of lenticular sheets which I’ve been hoarding because many of these are no longer available (except the Stars and Stripes, very Evel Knievel!) and have more on my workbench, some solids too. They take me a while with all the pockets, laminating the lenticular material to make it more durable, and all the edge grinding and edge painting. Lots of steps. But they last years! These will be at the Blue Genie Art Bazaar which starts November 14 bluegenieartbazaar.com #handmade #vinylwallets #lenticular #3D #billfold #wallet #bluegenieartbazaar #austintexas #austintx #nakatsubyjna
