I picked my first 3D printer I ever bought based on the desire to print shoes that would fit my feet. (I never actually tried to 3D print shoes in the end.) Being able to 3D print a chair as one single print would be really cool.

I've got more design work to do but I am making good progress on the handheld two button controller.

added the single twist cord style, which is what I was aiming for. Saw this at other basket makers, will add to my baskets. #openscad #3dprinting
PLA Carbon Fiber is really THE S-tier filament. Looks great, super rigid, doesn't take up moisture as much as PETG-CF, easy to print. Gonna make good use of the new #DiamondBack nozzle! #3DPrinting
Continuing our 3D print today of the Shenzhou capsule and Tiangong space station! Tune in to see the progress on this cool space model. #3dprinting

Update: decided to leave the giant spider on the porch. With the rain last night, it looks far scarier than it did 2 nights ago. Yeesh. #3Dprinting
Had a magnetic mounting plate for a smoke detector that was glued to the ceiling and no longer in use after I got a new smoke detector.
And since it was annoying and ugly, and next to a moon lamp, there was only one thing I could realistically do, right?
3D print a Saturn V rocket and attach it with magnets.

Do you ever do that thing where you find an STL that might work, but it's not quite right, so you load it up and make some edits, and it's not quite there, so you end up using it as a template to completely redesign your own version from scratch because... that's just what you do?
Me too.

Oh, right. Also, the giant 36" spider I finished #3dprinting in the nick of time, on the porch on some dead tomato plants from the garden. #halloween

Sometimes you forget to measure something precisely but it all still works out in the end.

From Earth to orbit, one layer at a time. I'm live now, 3D printing the Shenzhou spacecraft! Come join the stream to see this epic space project unfold. #3DPrinting #Shenzhou #Spacecraft
It looked like a promising print, but unfortunately it failed a few layers later due to a clogged nozzle. However, the pattern seems to be easy to print without support. #3dprinting #bambulab #basket
Handlebar brackets are done… I’ll mount the board on it tomorrow.

💢 Why is open source hardware not working for 3D printers?

Doing some more weaving with #openscad for another #3dprinting project of mine. Wha does it always look so much easier in the first place?
It went in a completely different direction than I had imagined, but that's fine. The Viennese basket weave will have to wait; I'm going to weave another basket first.

more experiments with the spherical helix and different shapes in different orientations, looking either like a spring or a ball. #3dmodelling #3dprinting #openscad
I think this will be a good new challenge for #3dprinting. I think the tube diameter needs to be sufficient for stability, otherwise it will be too elastic and act like a spring instead of a ball. #openscad (thanks @damarberlari@x for his stunning visual article
The baskets are also perfect as planters for kitchen herbs, for example. Just let me know if you'd like to see them on Etsy. #3dprinting #baskets #openscad
I finished my Vienna canework pattern (Wiener Geflecht), its just a first PoC, maybe it needs some more refactoring before I might think about some round variation.

Finally #3dprinting again. Had some hotend nozzle clogging and learned about different methods to overcome that. Turns out 'cold pull' is best. Now only 2.5 more hours to go. ;)
too many idea, to few time, do you see what I see? Maybe another type of basket at the horizon? #3daddicted #3dmodelling #3dprinting
I accidentally made another basket. Should I list it on Makerworld or Etsy? #openscad #3dprinting
