At least the CBC is properly naming and shaming now right there in the sub-head.
"The oilsands continue to pump out more crude and more greenhouse gas”
This must be stopped. We must transition our workers and our economy. We must set a date and wind down the industry while winding up renewable production.

Danielle Smith's Alberta Government doesn't care if your community burns to the ground.
"On Monday, the regulator confirmed the removal of the limit and said it was responding to direction from the provincial government."
After 3 examples of that happening in Canada (2 in Alberta), it is a reasonable conclusion.

Alberta Premier is going to sicken and kill children in the name of ignorance and “owning the libs” for Trump and RFK
"the number of cumulative measles cases had as of Friday passed 1,179 in Alberta. The last time Alberta came close to that number was 1986. That’s when the province reported 843 cases. In sheer number of cases, Alberta virtually matches the entire United States, where vaccine skepticism is now official government policy. ”.

Danielle Smith, Alberta Premier, goes full “why aren’t you grateful”.
Why can’t any of these horrible people ever show humility.
I guess they wouldn’t be horrible then….
“Alberta Premier Danielle Smith demanded Friday the fire-stricken town of Jasper apologize and retract a report criticizing her government for its role in last summer's devastating blaze.”
Maybe Jasper should become part of BC.

If humanity doesn't kill most life on Earth with CO2 it will definitely do it with irony.

It's incredible that the Alberta Premier continues to claim a pipeline to the Northwest (Prince Rupert) is possible. Premier Eby was not there because he was in the middle of a pre-planned trip to Asia (Japan, South Korea, Malaysia). And he said today there won't be any reconsideration of another oil pipeline, "decarbonzed" or not. And Japan has no interest in heavy oil anyway.
"But Eby continued to pour cold water on other premiers' talk of building another oil pipeline across B.C. to the coast, saying there is already the taxpayer-owned Trans Mountain Pipeline, which is not being used to full capacity.
He added that the Japanese don't want heavy oil and thermal coal. And he has not altered his stance against lifting the heavy oil tanker ban on B.C.'s North Coast.”

“An assessment of updated National Climate and Energy Plans (NECPs) shows the EU is on course to achieve a 54 per cent emissions reduction by 2030 - just one per cent shy of its legally binding 55 per cent target.”
Fun fact, if Canada joined the EU it would probably hurt it from an emissions reduction perspective because Oil and Gas.
“It attributed the progress towards the 2030 goal to action in the energy sector, with renewables covering 24 per cent of energy consumption in the EU in 2023. Most member states are now aligned with the target of reaching a share of 42.5 per cent by 2030, according to the Commission.”
Weird how they don’t mention LNG as being a reason why Europe has been able to meet its goals. Almost like renewables are essentially the only way to decarbonize the industry, just like the scientists say it is.
“States have a legal obligation to deliver climate action, and the Commission has a clear responsibility to uphold and enforce EU law in response.”
Imagine Danielle Smith whining about unfair laws…
Wonder how much #bclmg Europe will be asking for…
