That said, although I don't know an empirical study of this, I think there are many contexts in which a cheaper model has a much lower footprint. In fact, a recent study out of Stanford et al. found re-reading context was one of the reasons agentic tasks blew up compute

Interesting article: what is currently known as "reasoning" in LLMs really isn't. The author suggests to introduce a new form of reasoning inspired by how AlphaGo did it (on which the author worked on).

In der Family interessiert es niemanden: Aber mein Nylgut-Saitenexperiment hat mich sehr angenehm überrascht. Die Aquila 19C Alabastro Classical mit Normal Tension sind sehr ausgewogen, die Diskantsaiten (v.a. e) singen und sind wärmer als Carbon. Die Stimmen lassen sich besser in der Lautstärke differenzieren. Auch piano sind sie präsent. Die Diskantsaiten haben einen langen Sustain. Glissandi lassen sich besser spielen. Hoffe, dass sie auch in ein paar Wochen noch so klingen.

Unter Künstlern gibt es offenbar auch Alphas.

The roots of Carboliq's tech can be traced back to another company named AlphaKat that was once a partner of Recenso. They parted ways long ago. AlphaKat has, over the years, found plenty of people excited about its technology, although it often did not achieve what it promised. I touch many aspects of that complex story only briefly.
