X/Twitter post from Shaz (@shazcodes):

“Our CEO fired the entire 12 person QA team last month and replaced them with an AI automated testing pipeline to save $1.2 million.

“Today, we lost $6 million in orders because a bot hallucinated a discount code that made everything in the store zero.

“The best part? He asked the lead dev to hop on a call with the fired QA lead to see if he'd consult for free to fix it.

“Corporate greed is a mental illness.”

“Trump attacked the Pope.
Iran defended him.
Let that land.”

Beneath is a screenshot of a post from X/Twitter by Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran:

“His Holiness Pope Leo XIV (@Pontifex), I condemn the insult to Your Excellency on behalf of the great nation of Iran, and declare that the desecration of Jesus, the prophet of peace and brotherhood, is not acceptable to any free person. I wish you glory by Allah.”

Monospaced text, from an imaginary transcript of Dune:

“[…] scene

“Paul Atreides just made it, through a mad dash to rocks, after crossing drum sand. A sandworm is in his heels.

“Paul stands at the edge of the rock, as the sand wormrises from the sand, thrumming, scales clicking and chittering. Paul is dead meat, as the couple hundred meter long sausage of doom towers over him.

“The sand worm stops, opens his round mouth, and starts thumping at Paul.

“A thumper nearby goes off. Sand worm t…

I'll be honest, sometimes I like the #AltText more than the picture. Like, it'll be some picture of the woods or something, and I'm like "okay woods.." and then I read the alt text and it describes lots of amazing details that I didn't even notice and I'm like, "wow this picture is great!"
But really it's the alt text that's great. It…

“The Fifth Horseman,” a single-image cartoon by Joe Heller, dated 2026.

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse—War, Death, Pestilence, and Famine—wait by a sign pointing to Armageddon. Both they and their horses look resentful and worn down. They’re joined by a fifth Horseman wearing a red baseball cap, Wilful Ignorance, who feigns resignation, and explains: “Hey! This is not what I voted for!”

Sure, I go to the library for books, but also sometimes I go just to exist in a space that's welcoming, organized, comfortable, judgement-free, and run by knowledgeable, helpful, passionate people, because that energy is straight up medicinal

Six images of toilets to illustrate various stages of the Roman Empire.

1. Roman Republic: A sleek, modern porcelain design with automated seat and lid, bowl lighting, and remote control.

2. Roman Empire: A gleaming gold toilet in a marble bathroom setting.

3. Later Roman Empire: A dual toilet, with two seats facing in opposite directions, and an extended cistern with centre-mounted flush buttons snaking between them.

Post from CptMatt_theTrashCat

"I'm going to see if I can explain it a different way:

"Imagine a guy who hates disabled people builds a hotel, so he bans all disabled people, and builds it in such a way as to specifically make access difficult for them. Years later he sells the hotel to a new owner who has no problem with disabled people. So you have a hotel where the owner has no problem with the disabled, and neither do any of the staff... however due to the actions of the previous owner, th…

May Iranians, who mostly hate their leaders, be safe.

May Palestinians, who mostly hate their leaders, be safe.

May Israelis, who mostly hate their leaders, be safe.

May US citizens, who mostly hate their leaders, be safe.

May all the war-mongering authoritarians be deposed, and may they one day experience real justice

for all
the suffering
and death
they cause.

A single-panel editorial cartoon, entitled “The next big Iran War announcement”.

Standing near the White House press podium, a blonde woman in brown jacket and skirt peers back around a doorway to a roomful of hunched men in suits audibly clicking on their mobile phones.

“What are we waiting for?” the woman asks.

The closest man to the door looks over his shoulder at her and replies, “Everyone to get their trades in.”

A black-and-white tuxedo cat, looking somewhat less than impressed and gazing directly at the viewer, sits in front of a landscape-aspected painting, perhaps half again wider than it is tall. Though its proportions are closer to those of a cow,—albeit exaggerated to use as much space as possible—the markings on the tuxedo cat that fills the rectangular canvas indicate that it’s a portrait of the otherwise normal cat that now sits before it.

Caption: “I don’t know who did this. But I do have a …

A “Political Compass”-style dual-axis graph of political positions. The y-axis (vertical) is Authoritarian (at the top) vs Libertarian (at the bottom; the x-axis (horizontal) is Economic Left vs Economic Right.

In each quadrant is an image of a cat.

The top left (Authoritarian/Economic Left) shows a cat sitting in a cardboard tank—as in the armoured fighting vehicle.

The top right (Authoritarian/Economic Right) shows an anthropomorphic cat in Tudor-style puffed robes.

The bottom right (Libe…

A black and white image of the late, great drag queen Divine peering over her shoulder at young, smiling Donald and Ivana Trump. Divine wears an expression of utter contempt and disgust.

[Edit: per @Ralph@hear-me.social, the image is actually a digital composite, created by artist Sugar Deluxe, from a 1989 image of the Trumps; Divine passed away in 1987.]

A single-panel comic by Pat Bagley, entitled “Puppet.”

A big-screen television shows Donald Trump gesturing wildly, his arms pointing to one- and three-o’clock.

Meanwhile, in front of the TV, Vladimir Putin wears a virtual reality headset and, controllers in hand, holds his arms in the same position as Trump’s. As he does so, Benjamin Netanyahu tries to grapple Putin to take the controllers from him.

“My turn!” Netanyahu cries.
