British Birds - “Lie Down With Dogs, Stand Up With Fleas“ (2026)
Latest from this new-to-me band. Out of Chorley, Lancashire (UK). I like the guy’s voice. Cool guitar centric sound. Not sure I agree with the label, but they’re considered “psych rock”. I just like that it’s generally upbeat and the guitar parts noisy and crunchy.

Auch Tschechien leidet dieses Jahr unter den teils extrem hohen Temperaturen. Doch während es anderswo Programme gibt, um die Folgen zu mildern, ist in Tschechien in dieser Hinsicht nichts passiert. Konkrete Pläne der Regierung zum Umgang mit künftigen Hitzewellen sind bislang nicht bekannt. Umwelt- und Klimapolitik gehört nicht zu den Prioritäten der Drei-Parteien-Koalition von Premier Andrej Babiš.

I love this song because it reminds me of my days working at an independent record store (buying used records, marking down slow moving inventory).
Also nice to see a contemporary UK indy pop band composed of older people.
