This way, you create workplaces in so many areas: collecting, processing and storing garbage, mining for resources, processing them, production; and of course transport, marketing, sales. Using #AI is an ethical choice.
I know that there cases when an #LLM could make my job easier. Which doesn't mean I'll use one. Just like I won't be buying cheap junk gadgets that could help me with some random stuff a bunch of times before they'll end up on a trash pile.
Yes, sometimes I am curious what an LLM could come up with. But then, there are people who are curious how many donuts they can eat before throwing up. A waste of good donuts.
What world would you rather live in? One where you put a little more effort in your job? Or one where LLM helps with with your job, but you can't enjoy your free time anymore because the capitalists are using LLMs to turn every single aspect of your life into a nightmare, and eventually your employer just makes you do more and more until you're thrown out? But at least you will get a monthly trial of a statistical "friend" to "talk" about your trouble to.
Yeah, you can claim that training models does the most harm, and that's already happened, so not using them doesn't change much, and all the energy spent on it would be wasted. Or use the traditional "others" fallacy — others will use it anyway, others will fuel the vicious circle, so why renounce convenience. It's like when you learn that your dinner is human meat, and you decide to eat it anyway, because not eating it won't bring that human back to life, and if it's wasted, then their death will be for naught.

Shouldn't people who claim parts of a #forest as "private property" be responsible for tidying it up? In particular, removing the alcohol containers left after cutting down trees?
I'm so annoyed by this libertarian approach to property. "Mine — so I can bar entry, exploit and destroy", but never "mine — so I care and take responsibility".

When another coach capitalist philosopher starts telling you how people wouldn't work at all if they weren't coerced to, and the whole world would fall apart then, you should remind them that practically the whole Internet — yes, the same they're using to spread their capitalistic bullshit and the one capitalism is repeatedly trying to turn into complete useless shit — is founded on the work of volunteers, who for many years tirelessly work to keep it working while usually not expecting anything in return.

How often do you stop to consider how much harm has come from the absurd capitalist notion of "everyone must work for living" [does not apply to the rich], and its sister notion "everyone must work full hours"?
How many harmful technologies couldn't be phased out because it meant a lot of people losing their only source of income? How many destructive industries have been proliferating simply because closing them down would mean a lot of people without jobs? How much further are we going to push for the absurd notion of infinite growth?
And of course it only applies to the quasi-privileged groups. Nobody cares when lots of "low-tech" people are laid off and told to find a new job, because techbros need their new "high-tech" (read: more destructive to the planet) ideas to sell.

A growing part of the population is living in a quasi-sumptuousness, surrounding themselves with unnecessary crap. At the same time, the necessary exploitation reaches the levels where the same people are being exploited. Effectively, we're hitting a vicious cycle of people exploiting each other.
