If I had to be in Utrecht for a 2-3 day conference next year, could I stay at hostels for cheap? Is that a thing? Can I rent a bicycle as a forigner and toot around the little towns for a few days afterward?

So, a #bookstodon request: who are the kids (14-18 year olds), getting their recommendations from?
Looking for a smart but cool person* recommending great books to smart teens reading older than their years.
Specifically widening out of the romantasy genre would be nice and ideally to books outside the US cultural hegemony too..
*Not a parent because parent's suggestions are somehow pure poison at this age.

Chat, can you recommend to me thoughtful, well-researched books about #GamerGate ? Maybe published a little after it happened so that the author has a chance to summarise and reflect?
Note - my sympathies are with the women & other victims, I do not need to need to read about how the perpetrators still believe their behaviour was justified. I can simply open Steam comments for that POV, tyvm!
Boosts welcome #AskFedi

I feel like the old science twitter would have a good answer to this question, but let's try here. I understand Eutel Oneweb can/will make a European equivalent to #starlink.
Perhaps even with higher orbits to avoid the satellite orbit pollution.
Is this true? When will it be ready? How do we switch to it?
Yes this is also a question about how we can help #Ukraine.

I would like coverage.py results in the gutters in VSCode without anything in VSCode trying to do test discovery or execution.
And I would like it without an untrusted extension.
Just read the coverage report occasionally.
Is there something good?

Ok fedizens, I will shortly be driving a rental EV around rural northern and Western Germany, ( possibly SE Belgium) - what apps should I download and prepare for charging? Any suggestions on good plans to sign up for?
