Dangit. I should have posted this about 22 hours ago (in response to the #baseball game).
"A strange game. The only winning move is not to play. How about a nice game of chess?"
The team I've cheered my whole life failed once again to make it all the way through October (but they got close!). So while my neighbors would call it fish and chips, we're having what any self-respecting Brewers fan knows is called fish fry for Game 1 - it is Friday, after all. Go Jays Go!

NOTE: Even though Jays-Dodgers played two games' worth of #baseball tonight, only one win will be credited. Series is only 2–1 LA.
Feeling the Dad energy here. Pretty darn cool!
"Facing the possibility of winning the World Series, Steve says the title was never even on his radar when Davis was growing up. He just wanted his son to earn a college scholarship. Then, when Davis got drafted, Steve focused on him getting called up some day.
"He's just beaten all the odds every place he's stopped, so, this is just another stop along the way. And if this happens, it's just going to be incredible," he said.
"It's just unreal. I still just can't believe it's happening.””

Good Morning #Canada
Yesterday, hundreds of women flocked to Washington D.C. to tryout for a few dozen spots in the new Women's Professional Baseball League. It's #Historic because it last happened over 70 years ago. It gives hope to young women who played baseball or softball at a high level in their youth, but there was no career path that involved a sport they loved. Many of those participating in the tryouts are from Canada, and certainly, one of the most interesting is Alli Schroder. At age 16, Schroder pitched the final inning for Canada’s National Team that won Bronze, and more recently, she has been striking out men in a university league in B.C. while her day job is fighting wildfires. Here's a TSN feature on her released a few years ago.

Penn № 17 Noah Millikan recovers after a pitch and looks towards home plate at Cornell's Booth Field

Was looking for commentary on today's early #ALCS Blue Jays vs Mariners game (first pitch is 3:05PM PDT) and came across two articles that featured near identical pictures of last night's Toronto pitcher Max Scherzer. It fascinates me how much elite sports is about being able to repeat a movement perfectly, exactly, every time.
The light blue jersey'ed picture is from last night, the white jersey, an earlier time.
It's amazing the similarity (and also the photo taken at the same moment)… right down to the grimace on the face…
I can't do this….lol
