Suppose a government created a new fiat currency paid only as a universal #BasicIncome to all residents, and levied highly progressive taxes on property which must be paid in this new currency.
Would this work to redistribute wealth, or would it merely drive up rents?

It is past time for a permanent basic income in Canada.
Now we have a country-level model, in an English speaking country, to start from.
