#QueensZoo needs to ditch these awful bike racks and install staple racks. This same amount of space could fit at least a dozen bikes, but the "wheel bender" rack is just space inefficient.

A wooded area next to a fence (next to the Queens Zoo entrance). A long wheel-bender bike rack, maybe 12ft long, with cobblestone underneath. Two cargo bikes (mid-tail or longtail) are parked on either end of the rack, basically the only usable spots on the rack. Kid seats are installed on the rear of both bikes.
Same rack with the two cargo bikes locked, but now there's a *third* cargo bike (my blue Yuba Kombi) attached to it. My bike is locked in the middle, and I have a smaller kids' bike attached to my bike, so I'm literally taking up THE ENTIRE SIDE of the bike rack. The smaller bike is attached to my rear rack by its front wheel, with the rear wheel of the kids' bike on the ground.

normalize unisex bikes

An old, rusty, beat-up red/pink bicycle locked up to a yellow wave rack. The bike has a mixte frame with lots of paint chips (easily 30 years old). However, the wheels are newer, the silver fenders look brand new, the saddle is only a few years old, and the swept-back handlebars replace the original drop bars and also look custom and new-ish. Clearly a very well-loved bike (I suspect older than its owner!) Oh yeah, the original derailleurs and shifters were removed, and it's now a single-speed.

So we got our jackets, did our errands with our little bike trailer - and were lucky because it didn't even rain 💪

Rode our new bikes to Pramort, the easternmost accessible point of the Zingst peninsula, where we saw a wild boar, deer, and many birds. About 60 km total.

Eight days out from breaking my rib, I took my favourite bike out of the shed this afternoon for a wee ride, to see if by any chance I would be able to ride into Castle Douglas (40Km round trip) tomorrow to pick up my medicine.
I managed about two hundred metres.
The answer is 'no'.

Added Power Grips (pedal straps) to my wife's #Brompton. Not going to say it's my nicest work, but I'm hopeful that it'll hold. I only drilled holes through the plastic reflectors; the metal is all intact. I can change that later if needed. #BikeTooter

The right side pedal. The red Brompton is folded up (doesn't even really look like a bike), but the right crank has a normal-looking pedal with a black strap on it. The metal hardware attachment has screws going through the orange plastic reflector of the pedal. The bike's on a white rug w/ black line pattern.
The opposite side of that same right pedal. You have a better view of the opposite side of the orange reflector, with nuts and washers attached to the bolts that go through it. The red folding bike it's attached to is just a jumble of stem, wheel, drivetrain, etc.
The left-side pedal (and behind it, the brompton logo on the red frame). The pedal is folded up so that it is parallel to the crank arm. The orange reflector is missing from the exposed side of the pedal. Of the two screws that held the reflector in, one is missing (just an empty screw hole), and the other is screwed into the end of the black Power Grip strap.
The other side of the left pedal. This time the pedal is unfolded (so it's perpendicular to the crank arm), and the plastic grey reflector mount is installed but only one side is screwed in. The orange reflector is actually missing, and underneath you can see the silver Power Grips attachment hardware. Though normally you'd have two screws holding the attachment hardware in, there's only one screw there; the grey reflector mount is on top of it, pinching it down to hold it in place. Essentially…

My wife & kids are away (the kids at camp, my wife for a conference). As such, I have turned the living room into a proper bike shop. Currently 4 bikes in various states of repair - my wife's road bike, my father-in-law's brand new bike, the 9yo's new bike, and a folding bike. I have a new cassette for my mid-tail bike, too, but I think I'll order new tires first before I replace it. #BikeTooter

Back on the bike on the train, making intercity rail actually useful as a commuter option by using my own bicycle to extend their service area all the way from Home to Office.
I wish Metrolinx didn't have such regressive policies about me "inconveniencing" people who drove a half-ton truck 8km to the train station.

My wife and me both have commitments during the day. So we just did a 2h cycling to our beautiful reservoir and back. It went really well and it felt good to be on the bike.
