Poorly shot #BirbyCrap for @…

Poorly lit photo of an adult Egretta novaehollandiae bird strutting along a large black basalt boulder. The bird is a classic heron shape, mostly pale grey, but with a white face. In the background is thick sub-tropical forest.

Poorly shot #BirbyCrap / #BoobyCrap for @…. Note the lone birb on the lower right hand rock - this booby represents me.

Photo of a large Sula dactylatra tasmani colony on an island/peninsula. The island or peninsula is a large basalt blob surrounded by black cliffs, with the top covered in lush grass and the odd shrubbery. The grassy areas are where the birds are nesting, many in obvious pairs. At the top in the background is Mutton Bird Island, which is also part of the same colony, although it is too far away for birds to be visible. At lower right is a rocky promontory of the mainland, with a single anti-soci…

Poorly shot #BirbyCrap for @…

Photo of a Strepera graculina crissalis sitting on a branch. Unlike mainland currawongs, this bird is almost entirely black, though it does have some white patches on its tail feathers (not visible in this photo). The bird is incredibly curious, and is clearly sizing up the photographer to try to determine whether he’s any good at photography or not. Sadly the bird determined (correctly) that he isn’t.

Poorly shot #BirbyCrap for @…

Zoomed in photo of a Chalcophaps longirostris rogersi on the ground. The bird is a classic dove shape and appearance but the wings are a beautiful green, while the rest of the bird is varying shades of grey. The beak is orange. The bird is standing on a thick mat of fallen pandanus fronds.

Poorly shot #BirbyCrap / #AngryBirb for @…

Video of a very angry Phaethon rubricauda chick. The chick is in a crevice in the rock in a dirt nest and is a ridiculously cute ball of pure white fuzz. Interesting the nest is ringed with symmetrical guano smears, which suggests the chick poops out the side of the nest rather than in it.

Poorly shot #BirbyCrap for @…

Front on and top down photo of a Hypotaenidia sylvestris bird. It is a flightless bird about the size of a melon, mostly a mid brown in colour, but with some orange striped feathers towards its tail. It has 3 large claws that appear to be well adapted to scratching through leaf litter.

Poorly filmed #BirbyCrap for @…

Video of a flock of noisy Phaethon rubricauda birds wheeling and turning along a 200m sea cliff. The birds are brilliant white, with narrow swept wings, and the sea is a gorgeous blue with the sun reflecting off it.

Very poorly shot #BirbyCrap for @…

Poor quality photo of a Trichoglossus moluccanus sitting on a power line. The bird is a classic parrot shape, with green feathers from the chest down and on its back, with a band of bright orange around its upper chest, and the face is blue.

Another badly taken #BirbyCrap photo for @….

Close up photo of an adult Alisterus scapularis on a tree branch. The bird’s head, neck, and underbelly are bright red, and its back is a dark green, with long, dark blue tail feathers. The bird is quite large (perhaps slightly larger than a pigeon?), though elongated and streamlined looking in classic parrot fashion.

Poorly filmed #BirbyCrap for @….

Short clip of a several hundred birds (ducks? canuckistani gooses??) flying in formation at sunset. The sky is very pretty sky with distant bright puffy clouds.
