#Brightline , the only privately run inter-city rail route in the United States that keeps getting handouts from government is in bad financial position.
They mainly offer service in Florida right now but are planning extension in California/Nevada
Turns out private rail might be hard to make money from, what a surprise.

Brightline's fares fall along with its credit rating
Lower passenger fares in June led credit rating agency S&P Global to cut its rating on some of Brightline's bonds. The passenger train service hopes to refinance other borrowing, but at higher interest rates.
