My favorite 20 albums blog post will likely have to wait until at least the weekend of December 5, as I'm waiting for December 3 and 4 for the release of three records, all of which I'm pretty sure are gonna be on the list. It should be up fairly soon after that, on that weekend. I'll have the rest written by then and just finish those last couple blurbs after the records come out that Thursday and Friday 🙄😂

A book bought from the tombola stall at a Heritage Open Day event at Hartlebury Castle. I didn't want to take my chance with a tombola ticket so I offered £1 to buy it instead of 50p to gamble and they wisely accepted 😄 The Constant Gardener by le Carré. Beautiful pale blue sky-evoking paperback cover with three randomly placed bees in flight. Author and title in gold capitals, short blurb in smaller black letters.

The Missing Piece in Rust Error Handling
Rust already has most of what I want from error handling: explicit control flow, errors as values, and concise propagation with ?. The friction comes when deciding what to put in the error half of Result. We often end up choosing between precise types that require boilerplate and convenient types that hide which errors can occur. But precision and convenience do not have to be competing goals. Error types should compose as easily as the functions that return them.

Heck, TinyUSB has tons of boilerplate that needs copying into projects; the Rust usbd crates seemed much simpler.
(I'm using TinyUSB for a video project I'm playing with because I'm not aware of a Rust implementation of the video class)
