#HappyBirthday to Harold Jay Smith, born May 26, 1912. Better known by his stage name Jay Silverheels, he is mostly recognized for his role as Tonto in the TV series The Lone Ranger. Silverheels was born on the Six Nations of the Grand River reserve, near Hagersville, Ontario, and was an accomplished athlete before being discovered and starting his acting career.
