This Silicon Valley satire follows a CEO in trouble after the collapse of an acquisition deal.
Created by Succession writer Jonathan Glatzer,
each character is more hideous than the next
– and it is stuffed with twists and treacheries

Destroying rare books to stave off large language model collapse seems like a far cry from recursive self-improvement for generative 'AI'.

I had to laugh-groan almost out loud at this passage:
❝Any effort to undermine the election will eventually resolve itself, whether through political compromise, contentious rulings from courts, the use of force or all three.❞
My dude…. OK, yes, it will definitely “eventually resolve itself” — if you also include the possibility of it doing so in the way that the collapse of democracy in Germany in the 1930s eventually “resolved itself.”
I guess technically WWII is encompassed by “the use of force.”

It's become commonplace to say that "LLMs can handle large amounts of data," something that is true for other computer methods including ML.
When actually tested, however, LLM performance collapses as scale increases.

@… as I don't feel like creating yet another account on yet another service, I won't be telling you anything on community.joinmastodon.org. But I do have feedback to share.
I use advanced mode on the web. And that panel stuck on the left suddenly became extremely annoying as it gobbles up way too much space for the content it has. It needs to be collapsable. Much the same way the compose window is (and it wouldn't hurt if this one could be moved around, not just minimized).

I wasn't out hiking today (just a walk) to fully recover - but I can still share a short clip from a couple of years ago!
Feel free to follow my peertube account @… - or not ... I'll boost the posted clips on this account anyways ...
🤔 maybe I should avoid using hashtags? Otherwise the video might appear twice when users have the hashtag subscribed?
