I fear that the proliferation of expert panels on #ClimateChange is a bit like Randall Munroe's famous cartoon about the proliferation of standards. We don't need more panels, we need to pay more attention to the ones we already have

I was today years old when I realised that the purification of silicon — needed for computer chips — is an incredibly carbon intensive process, and that in a post-carbon economy, we may not be able to do it at all.
So — no more computers, at least not with the technology we use now; and, probably, nowhere near as cheap or as ubiquitous.

Perhaps those "skeptics", like the "climate skeptics" we have also endured over 20 years, weren't actually "skeptical" at all. They were just fossil fuel industry talking heads and plants, paid or brain washed or both to ensure Fossil Fuels were never without a cheerleader.
