Confirming Nunki as the closest #CoreCollapse progenitor candidate to the Sun: https://arxiv.org/abs/2603.17011 -> it's a pair of 6 M_Sun stars at 69 parsec that will merge into a 10 M_Sun star and thus end as a supernova.
