It finally struck me last night that Tadej Pogačar is basically the Bazball of #cycling, or Bazball is the Pogačar of #cricket. Both are more than a bit unhinged, really just in it to win, not to draw, and hence often super entertaining. Except Tadej is ridiculously more successful.

My very cancellable take is that today's ENG-IND #cricket win was boring; it would have been far more exciting as a proper Test match draw. ENG were dreaming of Stokes at Headingley when they needed to channel Atherton in Johannesburg (or even Leach at Headingley).

I think it's not a coincidence that several of the key players on this Bumrah-less team (Gill, Siraj, Pant, even Washy) were part of that star-bereft, magnificent 20-21 Australia tour. I think that was a seminal learning experience. (And boy has Gill grown as a captain.) #cricket

Absolutely the most surprising part of this obit of Dilip Doshi, a former Indian #cricket player, is that while Doshi always struck me as the squarest of blokes, he was thick chums with MICK JAGGER, the sultan of cool.

I've struggled to find a decent #cricket podcast, and finally found a *great* one: "The Analyst Inside Cricket" by Simon Hughes and Simon Mann. Excellent stuff, and really good listening. I've actually started to go through several back issues starting from 2017. Check it out!

This ENG-IND #cricket test is going to turn into a test of Gill's captaincy: India won't score enough runs in the 3rd inning, and the question will be, does Gill overuse the fragile Bumrah or accept defeat in return for Bumrah being available for the whole series.

I assume all other #SouthAfrica #cricket fans also no longer have fingernails, tips, etc. just stubs?
