The #MastoCanadaGOV initiative now has it's own account for communication and you can follow the team at @…. They have some updates scheduled over the next few days on progress towards convincing our government and politicians to build a presence in the Fediverse. It's small contribution towards #DigitalSovereignty by getting our government contacts off of U.S. controlled social media platforms.
My account can now return to meeting your expectation of Canadian trivia and bad puns... and the occasional beaver joke.

Marketing Idea:
Create a series of posts, memes or videos where real people share their positive experiences with #Mastadon, #Pixelfed, #PeerTube, #Loops, #Lemmy, #Friendica, etc. - like the example below. Then post those ad nauseum on the equivalent services: X, BlueSky, Threads, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Reddit, Meta, etc. Think of it like a guerrilla campaign injecting positive experiences directly into the tech bros home turf. Be relentless with the messages.
I've seen some Fediverse content on U.S. social media platforms, like videos explaining what the Fediverse is, or how to choose a server on Mastodon. But, with all respect to our technical experts (love you all), we shouldn't have nerds selling the Fediverse to non-technical social media users. People will relate to real people connecting seamlessly across different platforms - for family, for entertainment, for education.

Big thanks to @… for having me on his podcast. While I never actually went to Ottawa (though I have visited!), it has been quite a journey since landing on the Fedi in 2022.
The struggle continues to try to get our Canadian politicians to understand that *they* will drive viewers no matter what platform they're on.
Also, I am just one person. There are, thankfully, a whole bunch of people trying to accomplish the same goal!
