Big Think is pop-sci drivel with a questionable cast of ‘experts’ that still lives on MechaHitler’s CSAM-generating platform and (based on its accessibility statement) uses an overlay (I block them, so not sure which).
An author citing Ayn Rand is just icing.

Weekend #Plankton Factoid 🦠🦐
Happy New Year everyone. While species are often named out of respect for famous people, one had never been named for a TV series. Oramge

Video of an orange cat grooming himself while laying next to a fish tank without a lid. The tip of his tail is dipped in the water and everytime the tail swishes, more drops of water to groom away are flicked droplets. The shared braincell is struggling to figure out the source of this mystery water.

With the holidays upon us, it's easy to default to giving the tech gifts that retailers tend to push on us this time of year:
smart speakers, video doorbells, bluetooth trackers, fitness trackers, and other connected gadgets are all very popular gifts.
But before you give one, think twice about what you're opting that person into.
One big problem with giving these sorts of gifts is that you're opting another person into a company's intrusive surveillance prac…
