My 88yo father is well along with Alzheimer’s now, and he pretty much can’t remember anything from one minute to the next. But he can sing songs and recite poems. Mostly he sticks to a handful of old favorites, but every once in a while he surprises us. A while back he started singing “Everywhere you go, sunshine follows you.” Neither my Mom nor I recognized it, so I looked it up. A delightful little song that I’m happy to have as my cheerful earworm of the day:

My only issue is I believe I have a condition that means you're constantly hearing music if there's nothing else there to take its place and that's happening to me right now as I type this (Bangles, Manic Monday, if you'reinterested). It's not an earworm, or just a song in your head, it's pretty constant. Called "musical tinnitus", apparently. 9/10 it's the reason why I find it hard to sleep again if I wake up in the night. Anyway, back to my coffee, a quick wander round and back to the garage.
