IMHO, the main issue is that you can't use any images without editing config.yml, not even remote ones. Even when only using URLs, you still have to set images_origin to something, as it can't be empty. And the error message isn't very helpful.

We still haven’t been able to get @… out even though she has an acceptance from the University of Milan and we successfully fundraised the amount the university/government needed for her scholarship *in November*.
The group before hers was the last to get evacuated before, it would appear, the Italian government realised that the university was doing so…
