Day 11:
Lisa Moore
I discovered this Canadian author via the Edinburgh Book Festival - what a find. I loved her novel "Alligator" - it's on my shelf for favourite books.

Day 10:
Pippa Goldschmidt
Both an astronomer and a very gifted writer. She writes the cleanest, most exact prose I have ever encountered.
She used to live in Edinburgh, but I think she lives in Germany now?

Colour photo of the author giving a talk at a wonderful cafe in Edinburgh that sadly no longer exists, Looking Glass Books. Such a lovely place. Pippa is smiling and looking to the left of the photographer. She is wearing a blue dress with a large pendant around her neck. She has shoulder length brown hair.

Day 9:
Pat Cadigan
Sometimes called the godmother of Cyberpunk, her writing (and editing!) is much broader than that. An influential workhorse!
I particularly enjoyed her novel "Mindplayers" and the novelisation she wrote of William Gibson's screenplay for Alien3.
