Just read Joe McGovern’s write up in this month’s The Wrap of Jared Harris’ great role and extraordinary performance in A House of Dynamite. So good to get some insights on that work. Now I wanna watch the movie again.

Sometimes I watch a ton of flicks and sometimes I watch none (as is evidenced here- I did We Bury the Dead on Feb 4), but I can feel it picking up again. Finally saw Scary Movie 4 and 5 ahead of 6 that comes out in June. Not quite a #Last4Watched, but close. Last 3 watched.

Rewatching Tron (and then Legacy) to prepare for Ares.
What an absolutely remarkable film. It somehow completely still holds up. They've done a nice job on the remaster, so it looks fresh. It's incredible how the ingenuity of the filmmaking means it doesn't look dated, and is still a compelling world. I can't imagine how much painstaking compositing work this took…

One fascinating film trivia I learned recently is that Sofia Coppola and Spike Jonze’s marriage from 1999 to 2003 partially inspired Coppola’s 2003 film Lost In Translation and Jonze’s 2013 film Her.
Coincidentally, both films star Scarlett Johansson as the main female protagonist, both films were nominated for the Oscar Best Picture, and both films won the Oscar Best Original Screenplay for Coppola and Jonze.

#Filmtipp für die Philosoph*innen unter Euch.
Mit der Zeit driftet der Film leider etwas ins Esoterische ab, was bei dem Thema auch nicht ganz überraschend ist. Fand ihn trotzdem interessant.
Die Studie, nach der Erbsenpflanzen "hören" (= Geräusche wahrnehmen) können, scheint jedenfalls anerkannt zu sein. Zumindest hab ich mehrere Artikel dazu gefunden.
