My French, such as it is, is based on Grade 8 Acadian - so “unusual” to say the least. :)
I was in Paris for an Apple Expo with the guys from Griffin Technology. They said, “You’re Canadian - order for us in French!"
I started to give the orders and, after about 30 seconds, the waiter said, “Excusez-moi. You are Canadien?” I said yes and he said, “Your French is terrible - speak english.” The Griffin guys just fell out of their chairs laughing! 🤣
