Probably today OpenAI will announce GPT-5 which will not be a revolution, AGI or anything like that. It will just be a next step for OpenAI mainly integrating it's mess of models/numbers/names (4, o3 etcetera), the question will be how much improvement there will be in the actual models used, probably not dramatic because the previous models are quite good already. Time will tell.

Simple field test of ChatGPT 5. "Produce a table of Bolivia's largest 15 cities by population in the latest census. Provide a link to the source."
It offered the 2012 Census data, and provided a link. But each of the top nine cities has a population that doesn't match the source.

The fun part: by "found" they mean "found on the web". 😁
But that points to something. Mathematics literature is quite spread out and sometimes hard to read.
The social network is very important. We need experienced folks who tell us "oh, in 1971 X told me about her paper Y containing result Z".
While Gary Marcus is still making fun of this, it shows how valuable llms could be for literature search.

just do other stuff and let it do its job, better slow and accurate than fast and wrong
