I cannot understand how any neuroscientists could have made this and then looked at it and then thought it would be OK to use??

I think this is supposed to illustrate the concept of fiber photometry in a mouse brain, but instead it shows three things that look like laser sabers (supposedly the fibers) aiming at some amorphous pink blobs (supposedly the brain) in what seems to be a deformed rat/mice hybrid head...
