One more memory from the Bayerischer Wald . Aaaand: this is one of the reasons why we like this region: it's so lush green and vivid and ... not so steep. The vegetation is just different. And so it's simply another kind of experience.
And that spot was just .. beautiful. The stream, the little path, the green, the light, the ferns, ... It's a good spot to just stand still and enjoy.

When I started at UCL, in. 1964, two of it's most eminent profs were refugees, Bernard Katz and Heinz Otto Schild. Schild, who gave me my 1st job, had been interned in the Isle of Man. He was a kind and gentle man
